Description of Sunflower Sunset

This was the first painting I had attempted in over 40 years. After many years of working to support my family, sometimes two or more jobs, I finally had time for me. At this point anything was a challenge to defeat my mental blocks that I could still paint like I did when I was younger. The landscape appealed to me because it was bold colors of the sunset with the freedom and movement of the sunflowers. I guess it kind of communicated what I felt at that moment. Here I was boldly proceeding, in the sunset of my life to once again be free to be me.
