Description of From Heaven’s Eyes
If I remember correctly, the inspiration for this painting came just before Easter 2020. I had seen some photos from the Hubble telescope and it started me thinking about God’s perspective. Does he look down on us like I look down from a mountaintop and see the valley below? And then I wondered what He saw when His Son was on the cross, being crucified. How difficult an image that would be for a father to watch. Through my imagination…and time and space I tried to recreate that moment in time, and sense the eternity of that one moment for a father. And in some way also capture the love of God for Jesus, His Son and in so doing, his love for us.
